Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bloodfields website and services. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Bloodfields is a virtual investigative blood analysis practice operated by Dr Robyn Bradfield (MBBCh). Our practice is registered in South Africa and operates in accordance with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) guidelines.

2. Our Service

Bloodfields provides a personalised, doctor-led blood analysis service. This includes:

  • A secure health questionnaire to understand your medical history, symptoms, and goals
  • Personalised selection of blood tests based on your questionnaire responses
  • A blood test request form for your chosen laboratory
  • Full review and interpretation of your results by Dr Robyn Bradfield
  • A comprehensive written report explaining each marker, its significance, and recommended next steps
  • A personalised action plan covering diet, lifestyle, and supplementation where relevant

Laboratory blood draw fees are not included in the Bloodfields service fee. These are billed separately by the laboratory you visit (Lancet, Ampath, PathCare, or other accredited laboratories).

3. Medical Disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

Bloodfields provides investigative blood analysis, health education, and personalised guidance. Our service is designed to help you understand your blood test results in depth and make informed decisions about your health.

While Dr Robyn Bradfield is a registered medical doctor, Bloodfields is not a substitute for:

  • Emergency medical care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your nearest emergency department or call 10177 (national ambulance) immediately.
  • Your primary healthcare provider. Bloodfields does not replace your GP, specialist, or treating doctor. We encourage you to share your Bloodfields report with your healthcare team.
  • Diagnosis of disease. While our reports identify patterns, trends, and areas of concern in your blood work, a formal diagnosis requires clinical assessment, examination, and often additional investigations.
  • Prescription of medication. Dr Robyn may, where appropriate during a follow-up consultation, issue prescriptions or referrals. This is at her clinical discretion and is not guaranteed as part of the standard service.

The information provided in your Bloodfields report is intended for educational and informational purposes. It should be considered alongside, not in place of, professional medical advice from your treating doctor.

Individual results may vary. The recommendations in your report are personalised to your results and questionnaire responses, but they do not account for all possible medical, genetic, or environmental factors that may affect your health.

4. Eligibility

Our services are available to individuals aged 18 and older. We do not provide services for children or minors. By booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

Our service is currently available to individuals based in South Africa who are able to access an accredited South African laboratory for blood draw.

5. Booking and Payment

The current fee for the Initial Blood Test Service is R1,500. This fee covers Dr Robyn's time for questionnaire review, test selection, results interpretation, and written report preparation.

Payment is required at the time of booking and is processed securely through Paystack. We accept credit and debit card payments.

By making a payment, you are reserving Dr Robyn's time for your case. Your health questionnaire will be delivered within 24 hours of booking via the Zanda medical portal.

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Because the Bloodfields service fee reserves Dr Robyn's clinical time, our refund policy is structured around the stage of service delivery at the time of cancellation.

Before completing the health questionnaire

If you cancel before completing your health questionnaire, you are entitled to a full refund. Contact us at info@bloodfields.co.za to request cancellation.

After completing the questionnaire, before blood test request form is issued

If you cancel after completing the questionnaire but before your blood test request form has been issued, a partial refund may be offered at our discretion. Clinical time will already have been spent reviewing your questionnaire and selecting appropriate tests.

After blood test request form has been issued

Once your blood test request form has been issued, no refund will be provided, as clinical work has been completed on your behalf.

After report delivery

Once your written report has been delivered, no refund will be provided. The service has been completed in full.

How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 7 working days via the original payment method (Paystack).

Report delivery timeframe

Your written report is typically delivered within 5 to 7 working days after your laboratory results are received by our practice. Complex cases may take slightly longer. We will notify you if additional time is needed.

How to request a cancellation

To request a cancellation or refund, email info@bloodfields.co.za with your full name and booking details. We will confirm the applicable refund stage and process your request.

7. The Process

After booking, the Bloodfields process follows these steps:

  • Step 1: You receive a secure health questionnaire via the Zanda medical portal within 24 hours of booking.
  • Step 2: Dr Robyn reviews your questionnaire and selects the specific blood tests appropriate for your situation.
  • Step 3: You receive a blood test request form by email, with instructions for your chosen laboratory.
  • Step 4: You visit the laboratory for your blood draw. Laboratory fees are billed directly by the lab and are separate from the Bloodfields fee.
  • Step 5: Once your results are received, Dr Robyn reviews, interprets, and prepares your comprehensive written report.
  • Step 6: Your report is delivered to you, typically within 5 to 7 working days of receiving your results.

8. Your Report

Your Bloodfields report is prepared personally by Dr Robyn Bradfield. It is tailored to your individual results and health profile.

Your report is provided for your personal use. You are encouraged to share it with your healthcare team (GP, specialist, or other treating practitioners) to support your ongoing care.

The report remains your property once delivered. However, the format, structure, and methodology of the report are the intellectual property of Bloodfields.

9. Follow-Up Consultations

Follow-up virtual consultations with Dr Robyn are available as an optional add-on service at a rate of R750 per hour.

During a follow-up consultation, Dr Robyn may, at her clinical discretion, discuss your results in further detail, clarify your action plan, issue prescriptions, or provide onward referrals. The scope of the consultation depends on what is clinically appropriate for your situation.

Follow-up consultations are booked separately and are not included in the Initial Blood Test Service fee.

10. Your Responsibilities

By using our service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information in your health questionnaire
  • Disclose all relevant medical history, current medications, and known conditions
  • Follow the laboratory preparation instructions provided (e.g. fasting requirements)
  • Seek emergency medical care when appropriate, rather than relying on Bloodfields for urgent health concerns
  • Share your Bloodfields report with your GP or treating doctor where relevant
  • Understand that recommendations are guidance, not directives, and that you are responsible for decisions about your own health

11. Limitation of Liability

Bloodfields provides its services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with accepted medical practice. However, to the fullest extent permitted by South African law:

  • We do not guarantee specific health outcomes as a result of using our service
  • We are not liable for the accuracy of laboratory results, as these are produced by third-party laboratories
  • We are not liable for actions taken or not taken by you based on the information in your report
  • We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to disclose relevant medical information
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the fee paid for that service

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under South African law.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Bloodfields website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Bloodfields and is protected by copyright law.

Blog articles published on the Bloodfields website are written for educational purposes and may not be reproduced, distributed, or republished without written permission.

Your individual report is your property. The report template, methodology, and clinical frameworks used are the intellectual property of Bloodfields.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If we make significant changes that affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

These Terms are subject to the Consumer Protection Act (No. 68 of 2008), the Protection of Personal Information Act (No. 4 of 2013), the Health Professions Act (No. 56 of 1974), and all other applicable South African legislation.
